Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Sustainability Manager to lead our sustainability initiatives and drive environmental responsibility across our organization in our Environmental department.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of LEED and Envision scope for multiple simultaneous projects and attain the LEED or Envision project goals.

  • Understand independent agency sustainability programs, such as Port Authority of New York and New Jersey (PANYNJ) Sustainable Building Guidelines and New York City Green Schools Guide (NYCGSG).

  • Stay current with environmental regulations, standards, and industry trends to ensure compliance and identify opportunities for improvement.

  • Train staff on LEED and Envision systems.

  • Prepare LEED and Envision portions of proposal scope and fee.

  • Manage LEED and Envision project budgets.

  • Prepare sustainability goals with project engineers, architects, project managers and specification writers during the design phase to assure all compliance paths are explored and adopted.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental science, engineering, sustainability, or a related field. A master's degree and energy systems knowledge is preferred.

  • Proven experience in managing LEED and Envision compliance on large projects.

  • Strong knowledge of environmental regulations, standards, and best practices, with the ability to interpret and apply them within an organizational context.

  • Extremely proficient with leading multidisciplinary coordination across design and construction phases for both buildings and infrastructure projects. Experience with renewable energy systems, energy efficiency assessments, emissions inventorying, and/or life cycle assessments (LCAs) preferred.

  • Excellent project management skills, including the ability to plan, prioritize, and execute multiple initiatives simultaneously.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with experience in data analysis and reporting.

  • Excellent communication and organization skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

  • Leadership experience, including the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve sustainability goals.

  • Certification in sustainability (e.g., LEED or, ENV SP) and experience with these certifications is required.

Compensation Range:

$107,451.00 - $143,268.00
