DESCRIPTION
Are you a creative technologist with a passion for building software experiences and an eye for design? Do you find yourself most content at the intersection of art and technology? We are looking for talented, passionate students who want to work with industry leaders prototyping future experiences across a range of products and markets.
The Amazon UX Design Technologist internship will provide you with an opportunity to grow both your technical expertise and your knowledge of the software design process. You'll learn first-hand how we approach prototyping user experiences, considering when to "fake it vs make it".
As an intern, you will take ownership of your project, defining your own backlog and path to success over the course of the summer. You'll learn from your Design Technologist mentor how to weigh important experience tradeoffs on your path to delivery and conclude your experience presenting your work to your project group.
A Successful Intern will Demonstrate:

* Strong leadership skills
* An ability to dive into the details but also be able to step back and see the bigger picture
* An ability to work independently in an ambiguous environment



BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
* Availability to work full time for 3 months over the summer
* Proficiency in a minimum of one UI layer technology
* Understanding of software design process
* Exposure to UX processes
* Passion and eye for UI-layer polish/detail
* Currently enrolled in a college or university and graduating between October 2018 and September 2019




PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
* Expertise in native mobile app development (Android/iOS)
* Strong web development background (HTML/CSS/JS)
* Strong understanding of interaction design and design process
* Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite
* Sensibility for consumer electronics and technology
* Excellent attention to detail
* Strong communication skills
* Self-motivated and capable of working independently
