You can G.R.O.W. with Us by becoming our Summer Intern - Sustainability located in San Mateo, CA THE ROLE The Recology internship program will take you outside the classroom and provide you with hands-on professional experience. Each intern will see first-hand the many facets of our business, as well as lead a project and experience how our employee-owners help communities reach their sustainability goals. We are looking for interns who are excited to help solve the challenges of resource recovery in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
Every Internship is Unique Recology gives every intern a major initiative and guidance from professionals to ensure the successful completion of the project. Recology couples day-to-day work with experience in the field, attending local meetings, and knowledge sharing seminars. After completing an internship, you are able to add real-world experience to your resume, and you have the potential to remain part of the Recology family. SUSTAINABILITY (WASTE ZERO) INTERNSHIP Recology sees communities as partners. If we don't work together to determine how to reach zero waste, it simply won't work. The Waste Zero Team works with our local communities and develops and delivers effective public education programs in franchise cities that support regional sustainability goals. Waste Zero Specialists coordinate recycling programs with local jurisdictions and educate existing and new customers on program elements and related Recology services. The team also monitors and researches relevant public policy issues that may impact various operational and business practices. The Waste Zero team also offers consultation and waste audits to help businesses and organizations save money and conserve resources. *At this time, housing allowance is unavailable. PROGRAM START DATES We will have two (2) start dates, and two end dates. Intern candidates must be able to commit to one of the start dates and complete a continuous 12 week internship.
