HP Communications is looking for energetic PR/Communications interns to join our Palo Alto based team this summer. We are the team that leads HP's Executive Communications, Corporate Affairs, Product Communication, Regional AR/PR functions, the HP Newsroom, and communications that celebrate Diversity, Sustainability, and Security for the company. This is an exciting opportunity to work with world class communications professional, and learn about and contribute to our purpose: telling the stories that make HP meaningful. The high-performing intern may also be considered for a multi-year internship, as well as full-time career opportunities post-graduation.

Key assignments you can expect are:

  • Assist Communications leaders in creating content worthy of a TED presentation
  • Partner with product communications to plan launch events
  • Prepare blogs that are social media ready with the videos, visual content, and text
  • Assist in developing innovative communications strategies to attract millennials to HP products
  • Research daily news to prepare an executive briefing
  • Work on a variety of public relations activities
  • Jump in where ever needed to accomplish our deliverables

Are you a high-performer? We are looking for an individual with:

Education and Experience Required:

  • Must be full time university student working toward Bachelor of Arts (BA) or Bachelor of Science (BS) in Communications, Marketing, Journalism or Business Administration with a 3.00 GPA or above.
  • Some communications experience in prior internships preferred, but not required.

Knowledge and Skills Required:

  • Excellent writing and editing skills
  • Excellent listening and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent team player who is committed, optimistic, and enthusiastic
  • Smart, creative, innovative thinker
  • Strong organization and solid program management skills
  • Fluency in English
  • Desire to learn communications agency strategy and related budget management
  • High levels of tact and diplomacy
  • Ability to interact with all levels of the company top to bottom, including most senior company management
  • Able to commit to at least a 10 week internship
