Our competitive intern program is a robust experience that offers interns exposure to the business world and a meaningful work experience. Baird's Operations Department ("Ops") is the best kept secret in the financial services industry and plays a critical role to the success and growth or the firm. We partner with the different business and functions within Baird with the goal of driving efficiencies and reducing risk to the firm.

Internship Location, Availability and Hours:
Located in our downtown Milwaukee office, interns must be flexible to work between 15-20 hours/week during the school year and 37.5 - 40 hours/week during the summer.


As an Operations Risk Intern, you will:

  • Create daily bank account and stock record reconciliations assisting in resolution of differences
  • Assist with month-end reconciliation collection and reporting
  • Compile information for month-end foreign cash revaluations
  • Assist with class action data gathering and notifications
  • Perform special projects which may include data gathering and analysis, process chart creation, documentation review, gap analysis, etc.

What we look for:
  • Currently enrolled with an emphasis in Accounting
  • Strong written and oral communication skills - ability to communicate ideas effectively within a team environment.
  • Able to work full time schedule in the summer and 15-20 hours during the school season.
