Responsibilities:

Principal Real Estate Investors is offering an excellent opportunity for a student interested in working in a fast-paced environment with the opportunity to assist with a wide-range of projects and responsibilities related to commercial real estate operations. During the internship, you will work directly with the Director of Operations and Sustainability to deliver a full range of operational services for our internal and external clients. Examples of intern responsibilities include but are not limited to general business administration, document management, rent roll reconciliation, lease and data management, compliance tracking and monitoring, sustainability initiatives and general project management. You will interact with a variety of internal areas as well as external property management firms. The team values the ability to independently resolve problems and make recommendations for solutions and next steps. Must be very dependable, flexible, detail oriented and have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

This paid internship is full-time during the summer beginning in May 2018 and part time during the school year through April/May 2019. This position is located in Des Moines, IA throughout the entire internship. Candidates who are not able to work in Des Moines from May 2018 - May 2019 will not be considered. We have flexibility for candidates to start prior to May 2018.


Qualifications:
  • Applicants must be pursuing a bachelor's degree in real estate or business management/business administration or a related field.
  • Strong preference will be given to those who have at least one semester remaining post-internship.
  • Communication and leadership skills, demonstrated through formal positions in student organizations or employment experiences, are strongly preferred.
  • Attention to detail and a results orientation demonstrated through a 3.0 GPA or better, are also preferred.
  • Must be able to work in Des Moines from May 2018 - May 2019
