Group Sales Manager
As Group Sales Manager, you will manage all group markets inclusive of eight rooms or more on peak night for the Hotel excluding Middle East and Social. Use your skills to prospect, lead management for market and negotiate within hotel parameters to achieve individual booking goal.

Summary of Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Director of Sales, responsibilities and essential job functions include yet are not limited to the following:

  • Responsible for meeting and exceeding personal sales room night booking goals & call activity goals, monthly, quarterly and yearly
  • Responsible for identifying key SMART action steps for each quartering that will achieve booking goals
  • Meet and exceed food & beverage revenue per occupied group room for individual group room night goal
  • Assist in planning and implementing strategies and action plans to increase group business.
  • Required to conduct active prospecting efforts to continue to build pipeline of business opportunities for hotel
  • Entertainment of clients as appropriate at hotel during site inspections and over meeting dates and actively with client to build and strength relationships
  • Travel as appropriate to various industry and company related client events in key feeder markets
  • Utilization of Opera Sales & Catering sales system in compliance with Accor, Fairmont and Fairmont Copley Plaza standards
  • Involvement in regional and national industry associations by participating in monthly meetings and committee role as appropriate
  • Developing key and developmental accounts for the hotel that will generate long term business partnership
  • Staying familiar with industry trends via appropriate publications
  • Ability to think strategically about hotels niche in business community and where to pursue business leads for all segments of hotel
  • Follow up on leads in respective territory both by telephone and by written correspondence within 1 hour timeframe
  • Attend all required meetings (weekly sales meetings and morning sales and catering lead meeting). Participating in on going brainstorming sessions.
  • Adhering to all Accor sales standards
  • Participation required at Situational Selling, Negotiation Training, Converting Inquiries, shop score of 90% company goal
  • Participate in daily lead meetings to maximize revenues and communicate potential business leads
  • Participate in all Accor territory sales events and trade shows, involves preparation of events, invitation of clients and facilitating of event
  • Performs other duties and projects assigned.
  • Maintain positive relations with all Guests, Vendors, Colleagues and Global Sales Offices within respective market.
  • Conduct outside visits to clients in territory to build relationships

  • Must be effective at listening to, understanding and clarifying the concerns of the particular need.

  • Must be able to work with and understand financial information and data.

  • Must possess necessary analytic skills to effectively review program patterns and have clear comprehension of marketplace business levels
