Position Overview:

Astound Broadband is currently searching for a Manager, Strategic Sourcing and Procurement in any of our major markets in Washington, Oregon or California, or in New York. This position is a key player in the development of long term strategies to automate our process flow, pricing, procurement, business intelligence, vendor management, internal training and supplier activities. Support and grow existing sourcing team capabilities in quoting, tracking inventory, applying cost reduction strategies, managing carrier relations and SLA monitoring for vendor value initiatives. Engage with Wholesale Offer Management and Sales teams to create reciprocal partnerships with vendors and customers.

The primary position responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Optimize current Sourcing Team and enhance their ability to support long term growth of the Sourcing Organization
  • Identify long term needs and recommend steps to accomplish them
  • Establish Performance Goals and Performance Tracking mechanisms for Sourcing Team
  • Track and manage workload
  • Establish overall process alignment in pursuing new vendor opportunities to grow and compliment current sourcing options
  • Provide strategic direction to evaluate and enhance sales opportunities for direct sales teams in regards to off-net opportunities. Engage with sales engineering to create solutions to meet customer needs
  • Automate systems and internal teams to create and maintain dashboards that evaluate, track and report vendor performance.
  • Management of Neustar, Connectbase, Masterstream and other business automation suppliers
  • Process Management: Determine functionality of existing support systems and recommend enhancements for long term, scalable growth of the organization
  • Develop Revenue Assurance practices and procedures such as migrating off-net access to on-net, bulk proposals to consolidate spend and other cost-saving initiatives
  • Engagement in post-acquisition migrations of type 2 services
  • Vendor MSA negotiations
  • Dispute resolution & escalations for internal/external instances
  • Conduct proactive needs assessments for applications development, proposal presentation, order negotiation and post-sales service requirements
  • Other duties as assigned

Our ideal candidate will possess:

  • College degree or equivalent experience
  • Telecom Vendor Management experience is required
  • Minimum 5 years Data Telecommunications experience
  • Minimum 5 years of telecommunications experience in infrastructure procurement
  • Minimum 5 years of strategic & technical experience in the telecommunications industry
  • Budgeting and forecasting experience
  • Product knowledge of both switched and dedicated services, as well as associated end-user and carrier applications
  • Operational understanding of telecommunications ordering, provisioning, and billing processes
  • Experience with automating systems with multiple platforms
  • Working knowledge of general marketing tools, portals and processes
