Position Summary
The Department of Genetics and Development is looking to hire a Technician B to work in the laboratory of Dr. Gerard Karsenty. The Technician will have laboratory-based duties.
Responsibilities
Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Prepare and maintain common laboratory reagents.
Assume a high degree of responsibility in mouse husbandry: help ensure the maintenance and genotyping of genetically modified mouse lines, organize mouse matings for the lab members.
Assist students and post-docs with benchwork.
Carrying out fully planned experiments.
Assisting in collection of samples.
Keeping records of the results of experiments.
Minimum Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a biological science or related subject area preferred.
Previous laboratory research experience preferred.
Experience with basic molecular biology techniques such extracting DNA and PCR.
