Your responsibilities

Job Summary

Provide timely delivery of product to our customers. Represent ThyssenKrupp Materials, NA in a positive manner by providing customers with quick, precise, helpful, courteous and professional delivery service. Ensure truck is in proper working order. Perform various duties as required.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Must tie their loads down to their trucks. This must be done properly to ensure safe transportation.
  • Plan your driving routes using maps or GPS tracking.
  • Reach the destination by the predetermined time.
  • Get goods to client on time.
  • Monitor road conditions and watch for traffic congestion.
  • Follow all applicable traffic laws.
  • Drivers must keep a detailed log of travel time, mileage and sleep hours to document that they have complied with the regulations set in place by the Department of Transportation.
  • Fill up on fuel, clean truck, and wash windows.
  • Report to a dispatcher any incidents encountered on the road.
  • Inspect their trailer before and after the trip, and record any defects they find.
  • Follow accident procedures if an accident occurs.
  • Report serious mechanical problems to the appropriate personnel.
  • Keep their truck, and associated equipment, clean and in good working order.
  • Take special precautions while driving.

Must Have Skills and Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience driving a flatbed
  • A clean driving record
  • Must possess a high degree of integrity and trust along with the ability to work independently
  • Ability to follow GPS and use maps accurately
  • Moffett / manitou or forklift experience.
  • Flexibility -workdays may start as early as 4 a.m. one day and 8 a.m another day.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Must have 2 full year verifiable Class A CDL driving.
  • Current medical card self certified and verified on current MVR
  • Be able to pass DOT pre-employment drug screen and meet DOT medical requirements.
  • Must be willing to stay over night if the job site is unable to get you unloaded.
  • No Seat belt, Distracted driving on PSP and MVR.
  • Self-certification on drivers MVR.
  • Valid CDL Class A and Med Card
  • No negative info on Clearinghouse.
  • Ability to operate manual transmission vehicles
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment

Job Compensation

$25.82 - $34.93
