Company Overview

Safeguard has been providing storage solutions since 1989, when founder Bruce C. Roch Jr. decided to create a different kind of self storage company—a company that delivers unexpected quality and service at every level. With these founding principles, Safeguard has grown into one of the premiere self storage companies in the United States.

A Vision of Excellence
Bruce’s vision included multi-story facilities that shatter the industry-accepted design standards and raise the bar on functionality. High-quality, modern, well-designed buildings with plentiful customer amenities—that’s standard stuff at Safeguard.

But, superior facilities alone don’t make customers completely satisfied. That’s why personal, friendly customer service has been—and continues to be— a hallmark of the company. This commitment to unmatched service distinguishes Safeguard from other storage companies.

From the Ground Up
Safeguard opened its first facility in New Orleans in 1989 . Since then, the company has grown to include additional developments in Louisiana, as well as Florida, Georgia, Illinois, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, and Virginia. Through various acquisition and development strategies, Safeguard now operates in nine states, offering more than 2.5 million square feet of storage space.

New Beginnings
Originally headquartered in New Orleans, Safeguard relocated its corporate offices to Atlanta in 2006, following the devastation associated with Hurricane Katrina. During this transition, Safeguard maintained its steadfast commitment to customers and employees, demonstrating the spirit of excellence that defines all that we do.

We hire people who help customers solve a problem, fix a problem and in some cases, avoid a problem, people who despise clutter, who look at things horizontally, vertically and cubically, who can think outside the box and work comfortably inside the ones we call storage units, who find a way to stick a round peg in a square hole, who love the smell of cardboard in the morning and who choose to measure the value of a career in square feet.
