Gerald Hassell, Chairman and CEO


Gerald became Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of BNY Mellon in 2011, has served as an executive since 1994 and joined the company as a management trainee in 1973. During this time, he has helped transform BNY Mellon into the world’s largest custodian and one of its largest investment managers. Gerald holds an MBA in finance from NYU Stern School of Business and a BA in economics from Duke University.
