Nancy M. Porambo is the current President of the American Massage Therapy Association. She is a nationally certified and state licensed massage therapist. Since 1990 she has operated the Therapy Option Inc. in Jim Thorpe Pennsylvania, a facility that specializes in the treatment of chronic pain utilizing neuromuscular massage therapy techniques. Nancy holds bachelor degrees in Psychology and Business Management and received a Master’s Degree in Clinical Health Psychology from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. She authored the practice-building book, Professional Practice Concepts; A Bodytherapist’s Guide to Success which is utilized in the continuing education courses she offers on business and ethics.
The American Massage Therapy Association® (AMTA®) is a non-profit professional association representing practicing massage therapists, students and massage therapy schools/programs. Established in 1943, the association has chapters in all U.S. states and Washington, D.C. Its mission is to serve its members while advancing the art, science and practice of massage therapy.
