SUMMARY

Ensure overall care programs are designed, implemented, and operated within defined program parameters.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Includes the following:

  • Provides documentation of supervision by maintaining a supervisory log for all staff supervised.
  • Completes all required documentation that pertains to this position in a timely manner that may include daily reports.
  • Ensures that appropriate shelter care and line of sight supervision of unaccompanied minors by assigned staff is handled in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Supports the Site Lead through formal or informal supervision and provides staff with ongoing feedback.
  • Communicates frequently with other shelter departments and support staff regarding pertinent information about residents.
  • Assists during transition and movement of children from one activity to the next and one physical location to another.
  • Participates in ongoing meetings, conferences, and training programs as required.
  • Helps coordinate on-site community meetings, understands group dynamics, promotes and maintains a positive peer group culture.
  • Provides coverage for assigned staff as needed to meet contractual ratio requirements.
  • Supports the Site Lead through formal or informal supervision and provides staff with ongoing feedback.
  • Communicates frequently with shift supervisor.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY/MANAGEMENT AUTHORITY

Leads and/or guides the work of other employees

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

High School Diploma or equivalent including 2 years of supervision or the ability to demonstrate experience as a leader and 2 years' experience in previous ORR Shelter.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Considerable knowledge of childhood development.
  • Spanish language ability preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective collaborative working relationships with families, staff and community partners.
  • Highly effective communication skills.
  • Knowledge of screening and assessments related to child development and to child and care giver functioning.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide support for and problem solve with direct care and supervisory staff as well as system partners.
  • Ability to effectively utilize a web-based data system to manage project information.
  • The ability to development tactical and strategic plans, goals and objectives.
  • Strong organization, planning and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with computer, common office equipment, and MS Office products.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work is primarily performed in a climate-controlled environment.

Estimated Starting Salary Range: $60,860 - $63,200 annually.
