EXECUTIVE OFFICE

The Executive Office plays an integral role in setting and advancing Goldman Sachs' corporate strategy, and in preserving the firm's distinctive culture. We are responsible for safeguarding the firm's relationship with alumni, clients, shareholders, policy makers, and the broader public, while ensuring that our own people remain informed about the firm's evolving priorities. We also partner with the businesses to source high-impact opportunities in line with the firm's social and sustainability agendas.

About Global Marketing

Led by the firm's first Chief Marketing Officer, the marketing function at Goldman Sachs is backed by momentum and a broad imperative to unify the discipline, helping to codify a business-critical function seen as core to the firm's future growth. As such, Goldman Sachs is focused on building out a data-and-technology enabled team of growth marketers, delivering value for the brand and the business. The organization will consist of a number of key COE roles in areas such as Brand, Media, Content, and Marketing Strategy, as well as marketing leads for each of our revenue divisions. Together, this team will collaborate to build a unified, scalable, and consistent approach to marketing the brand and its offerings. Our mission is to be a demonstrable force multiplier for the businesses we serve.

The Role

The Design System Product Manager sits at the intersection of design, engineering, and operations, responsible for managing a new, in-progress Goldman Sachs design system ("GSDS") that will serve as the foundation for the firm's digital properties and visual identity. The Design System Product Manager is accountable for defining the long-term strategy of the Design System (Figma Toolkit + UI Toolkit + Digital Publishing Toolkit) and driving its adoption across the firm.

The ideal candidate is a proven digital product manager with enterprise-level experience who balances the strategic vision of a firmwide design system with a willingness to sweat the details and actively problem-solve at the team, asset, and component level. They are comfortable partnering with marketers, designers, product teams, engineering teams, and senior stakeholders alike.

About the Strategy, Insights, & Technology team

The Strategy, Effectiveness & Insights team is a group of expert practitioners within the Global Marketing organization of Goldman Sachs. This team delivers on behalf of the corporate brand & Executive Office while also acting as a center of excellence for marketing work across the firm. Our mission is to serve as stewards of a remarkable Goldman Sachs brand, champions for best-in-class data and technology solutions, and enablers of marketing ROI across the firm. Beyond leading Corporate Brand & Executive office efforts, we consult with our partners in the firm's business units (e.g. Global Banking & Markets, Platform Solutions, and Asset & Wealth Management) to understand key business questions and marketing objectives, and provide hands-on service and expertise to drive the business forward.

4. Contributions

  • Document a governance model for contributions to the GSDS

Delivery and Adoption

  • Co-ordinate training aimed at graduates and experienced hires in order to introduce them to GSDS

4. Versioning and Releases

  • Use a data-driven approach to periodically re-evaluate areas of investment (e.g. prioritize high-usage / high-support components)
  • Ensure both day-to-day support and the long-term engagement model are geared towards reducing support and improving customer satisfaction

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of relevant experience in digital product manager roles; delivering products with non-trivial engineering components, ideally in the web application, component library, or product marketing spaces
  • Excellent written communication skills, is familiar or comfortable expressing business and engineering plans in multi-page narrative format
