Ribbon Communication is looking for a professional IP Networks Solutions Engineer to join our Trial Engineering team at our Corporate Headquarters in Plano Texas.
Responsibilities:
Conduct detailed customer requirements, discovery, and analysis
Remain current on, IP network industry trends, related technology, and streaming industry competition
Design and propose technical solutions and execute proof of concept activities based on the Ribbon platform Engineering field trials and demonstrations in house, from remote, or at customer site
Perform hands-on tests to validate customer proof-of-concept setups, Data Center and/or Campus network designs, and network deployments using new products and features.
Work closely with customers in the implementation and integration of the Ribbon platform
Deliver web-based and on-site platform and solution training sessions and demonstrations to customers
Respond to and partner with the sales team on RFP/RFQs
You must be an energetic team player that communicates, shares knowledge, and wants to be a technical field leader.
Provides occasional tradeshow support’
Put together design guidelines and recommend improvements to customers for the networks they support
Provide feedback to Product Management and Engineering
Keep up to date on competitive solutions, products, and services
Author white papers on technology and product
Develops, documents, and maintains architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces, and designs for software systems
Integrates software components into a fully functional software system
Develops software verification plans, test procedures, and test environments, executing the test procedures and documenting test results to ensure software system requirements are met
Develops, selects, tailors, and deploys software processes, tools, and metrics Presenting and proving technical solutions and capabilities for existing and new customers
Be a source of expert-level knowledge on all IP networking aspects
Required Skills & Experience:
8+ years of hands-on experience with IP networks. Cisco, Juniper, or Nokia certifications a plus
Engineering degree preferred
In-depth understanding of IP networking protocols
High service awareness and experience in working with customers in service-oriented environments
Extreme confidence in presenting technical information to customers with excellent communication skills
Very high level of capability of self-learning
Ability to work as part of a team
Willingness to travel within the US
