    The Product Engineer works with Interoperability and Business Intelligence (BI) ,analysts and business stakeholders to understand a business problem, need or opportunity to gather requirements, and then to design and build high performance solutions/reports focusing on maintainability, automation and the end-user.

    The primary purpose of this role is to perform Technical and Functional Specification, Design, Coding, Testing, Documentation in the areas of Development, Maintenance and Support of Health Information Exchange using the InterSystems stack of technologies. Creates scalable, maintainable, and reliable interoperability and business intelligence infrastructure. Partners and collaborates with other technology teams to extract, transform, and load data for wide variety of potentially disparate data sources from business systems/trading partners. Tunes application and query performance using SQL database tools. Interfaces with analysts, business customers (internal or external) to gather/ define requirements for solutions/reports. Learns and understands broad range of MVP's data resources and knows when, how, and which to use and which not to use. Assists in process design and deployment, performance optimization and hands-on development. Assists in support and maintenance of data marts, reports, and ETL jobs. Ensures a clean turnover of a developer's product from development to test, from test to QA, from QA to user acceptance, and for ongoing maintenance. Documents mission critical enterprise ETL tasks. Presents complex information in an understandable and compelling manner. Performs other duties as assigned.

    Responsibilities:
    • Design and development solutions using InterSystems stack of technologies - Primary Ensemble (aka Intersystems IRIS for Health) and InterSystems HealthShare
    • Attend scrum meetings and any other meetings defined by the manager
    • Working with business stakeholders for requirement gathering
    • Identify and articulate design methodology and best practices
    • Develop end-to-end solutions, participate for the code-review, unit test and deploy
    • Documentation of technical design and functionality
    • Provide support during testing and participate in go-live meetings
    • Provide after hours On-call support [rotational calendar]
    • Learn, Design and develop solutions using Intersystems HealthShare

    Position Qualifications

    Minimum Education
    • Technical degree (Bachelor of Science, Computer Science, or equivalent level of experience) required; advanced degree (MS) a plus. Certification as Microsoft Product Specialist in SQL Server desired but not required.

    Required Experience:
    • Software Engineer experience in Healthcare setting
    • Ensemble with custom components development, HL7 interfaces (FTP, File, TCP), SQL Adapter, Custom DTLs
    • Cache Objects and Cache Object Script
    • Design and development experience with REST/SOAP API development
    • Scalable and secure cloud solution design and development using best practices
    • XML/XSLT
    • HL7v2
    • CCD/CDA
    • Superior analytical and problem-solving skills, and excellent attention to detail
    • Master of a variety of analysis techniques to define problem/ opportunity and to discover unstated requirements
    • Advanced ability to challenge status quo by looking for a better way to solve a problem; not constrained by what has already been done or by "that won't work here" - ability to influence others in this regard
    • Knowledge of claims processing systems - Facets claims processing system knowledge strongly preferred
    • Highly self- motivated and directed, can direct others. Experience working in team-oriented, collaborative environment

    Preferred Skills:
    • Advanced knowledge of health care and health care delivery systems
    • Medical Terminology knowledge, highly preferred
    • HL7 FHIR
    • InterSystems HealthShare/UCR with understanding of SDA structure
    • SQL concepts with Intersystems Cache/IRIS
    • Health Insight/Active Analytics, HealthShare Patient Index, HealthShare Provider Directory
    • Experience of working in highly dynamic teams using agile methodologies
    • Microsoft Azure with CosmosDB, BLOB storage, Azure Functions, Azure DevOps, ARM Template, Service Bus, Google BigQuery, Google Workflow
    • Other programming languages like C#, Python, JavaScript or JavaScript Frameworks
