Full-Time, Non-exempt

This role is responsible for the processing of all payment transactions related to premium billing.

On a daily basis, this person will be required to process check deposit(s) for the entire organization, research payment errors, and complete various payment reports. Acts as a liaison between MVP and all premium payment vendors to discuss any unresolved banking issues. Works closely with multiple internal departments to provide excellence in servicing employer group and member direct bill accounts. Responsible for researching banking/payment discrepancies, with an emphasis on root cause determination and remediation. Supports banking reconciliation and A/R month end close processes. Responsible to provide payment or banking details during audits. Maintains payment related policies and procedures and ensures all internal policies and procedures are being followed. Helps develop automation tools to ensure maximum efficiencies are being performed and met on a monthly basis. Will also be responsible for assisting in the training and development of A/R staff when applicable. Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to regulatory compliance issues as they exist and change from time to time. Works collaboratively with co-leads on departmental trainings, projects, presentations, shared duties and ongoing process improvement. Required to meet departmental quality control standards and TATs. Perform other related duties as assigned.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Education :
  • High School diploma required. Associate's degree in accounting, finance, or business-related field strongly preferred.

Minimum Experience :
  • 2-5 years reconciliation experience in a high-volume transactional/accounting and/or finance related environment. Accounts receivable experience highly desired.

Required Skills:
  • Demonstrated commitment to serving the customer effectively.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple assignments and perform a variety of tasks with close attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of discretion in dealing with confidential member, financial, and company-sensitive information.
  • Excellent customer service/telephone skills and ability to deal with stressful phone calls in a calm and diplomatic manner.
  • Familiarity with healthcare benefits and/or medical terminology.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent computer experience including MS Excel, MS Word.

Preferred Skills:
  • 1-2 years relevant insurance, medical or healthcare experience
  • Experience with Facets
