Job Description:

The Senior Regional Student Recruitment and Admission Officer is responsible for representing Bellarmine University to multiple constituencies, including prospective students, their families, high school guidance staff and community contacts. This role will help in the expansion and diversification of Bellarmine University's student population and geographical reach. Living in one of the assigned regions of Indianapolis, IN, Cincinnati, OH, Columbus, OH, or Nashville, TN, the Senior Regional Student Recruitment and Admission Officer independently implements recruiting initiatives to meet application and enrollment goals. The officer will conduct a holistic review of first-year, transfer, and graduate student applications for their assigned territory, and others as assigned. This position must be effective at independently planning recruitment strategies including promotional college visits, area receptions, alumni engagement, individual meetings and building community partnerships.

Primary Responsibilities:

The Senior Regional Student Recruitment and Admission Officer will work with the Assistant Dean of Student Recruitment and Admission and other senior leadership to determine territory and market areas of focus for the recruitment of qualified high school, transfer, and graduate students for admission and matriculation. The position will work to achieve targeted recruitment goals and build relationships with key stakeholders in the assigned territory.

Responsibilities also include:

Territory Management:

  • Expand Bellarmine's geographic reach to enhance its reputation & impact.
  • Assist with developing a comprehensive, strategic enrollment plan to expand recruitment pipelines and attract new and more diverse student populations, within assigned territory region.?
  • Oversee recruitment territory, including attending in-person and virtual high school visits, college fairs, and associated recruitment events.
  • Grow local market share working with counselors, administration, families, and students to enhance exposure and trust.
  • Advise campus leadership of the needs of the area while also connecting constituents with the appropriate on-campus offices.
  • Assist with establishing territory recruitment and application goals by leveraging data and key performance indicators
  • Analyze data and trends to recommend timely and forward-thinking adjustments to strategy.
  • Manage admission applications of students in assigned territory. This includes assisting students through admission process, reading, reviewing, interviewing, gaining reference from counselors and making admission recommendations.
  • Maintain contacts with prospective students and events in Slate, respond to inquiries for admission information by phone, email, text and in person.
  • Maintain accurate reports and records pertaining to high school visits, telephone contacts, admission files, alumni contacts and year-end recruitment analysis.
  • Provide prospective students and their families with basic scholarship (if applicable) and financial aid information.
  • Participate in weekly virtual team meetings, frequent supervisor check-ins, participate in on-campus admission committee meetings as required; on-campus admission programs, admitted student events and other visit days as required by senior leadership.
  • Track expenses and coordinate activities to stay within recruitment budget. Ability to evaluate ROI of strategies in assigned territory to determine effectiveness of initiatives.
  • Manage additional tasks as assigned by Assistant Dean, Senior Associate Dean, and other senior leadership.

Event Coordination:

  • Plan, coordinate, and implement all off-campus events within territory, including but not limited to prospective student events; admitted students' events; counselor/partnership engagement programs, interviews, etc.
  • Secure venues, manages the registration and communication process, tracks and analyzes event metrics.
  • Oversee special recruitment, admission, and yield initiatives, projects, and programs on behalf of Student Recruitment and Admission team and contributes to the success of other initiatives designed to identify, attract, and enroll students.

School Administration and Counselor Outreach:

  • Establish territory admission advisory board to increase market share. Select local counselors from both private, independent, and public schools.
  • Develop and implement expansive counselor outreach and engagement strategy within territory.
  • Host regional breakfast/luncheon to educate constituents on important information and updates, specific to Bellarmine, for the application and admissions cycle.

Partnerships and Pipelines Outreach:

  • Contribute to and support strategic enrollment initiatives and partnerships on campus through SEP Office.
  • Initiate, develop, and maintain relationships with constituents within territory, postsecondary personnel, community-based organizations, and other individuals or organizations to engage them in the college search process.
  • Promote effective collaborations, community engagement and strategic partnerships with community organizations to enhance and promote enrollment and student success.
  • Attend networking events, regular meetings, and informational visits with community organizations


Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (master's preferred).
  • At least five years of professional work experience or three years of higher education work experience.
  • Required to reside in one of the preferred regional territories of Indianapolis, IN, Cincinnati, OH, Columbus, OH, or Nashville, TN upon employment.

Professional Competencies:

  • Self-motivated and demonstrated ability to function independently from a remote location, and the ability to conduct responsibilities from residence.
  • Ability to work and communicate with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Proven track record of strong decision making and problem solving.
  • Strong public speaking and interpersonal skills; with excellent presentation and communication skills to articulate and present ideas and concepts in written and presentation formats.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in student recruitment, education advocacy or college counseling.
  • Experience working in remote environment.
  • Knowledge of assigned regional territory.
  • Experience working in an institution of higher education.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Slate (or a Customer Relationship Management system).
  • Demonstrated ability to present information to small and large groups.
  • Bilingual communication skills, "Spanish/English".
