The Gamble Lab at Columbia University's Mailman School of Public Health (CU-MSPH) is recruiting highly motivated candidates for a Postdoctoral Research Scientist position. Funding is guaranteed for a minimum of two years.
Our laboratory conducts interdisciplinary research that seeks to understand the impact of nutritional and environmental exposures on human health. Our study team includes scientists and biostatisticians within CU-MSPH as well as colleagues from Emory, Mount Sinai, University of Chicago, and Baylor University. This team is leveraging banked biospecimens from our previously completed randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trials and state-of-the-art mass spectrometry platforms to measure responses of the human metabolome to well controlled intervention studies related to exposures to folic acid, arsenic and manganese. The resulting metabolomic datasets are complex and high-dimensional, requiring advanced modeling strategies to address questions of interest.

Minimum Degree Requirements and Qualifications:
Applicants should possess a Ph.D. in one or more of the following:
Biostatistics, Nutritional Biochemistry, Data Science, Epidemiology and/or Environmental Health Sciences. Expertise related to metabolomics / multi-omics is ideal but not required.
The position requires excellent written and oral communication skills and an eagerness to work as part of a collaborative team. Candidates must also have strong organizational and time management skills, the ability to work independently and to meet project deadlines.
