Job Description

The Department of Radiology at the Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons of Columbia University Irving Medical Center is seeking a full time body radiologist to work in our regional care network (Hudson Valley Hospital). Position requires fellowship or comparable experience in body imaging (chest, abdomen, pelvis, and vascular imaging) and board certification or eligibility in diagnostic radiology. Subject to business needs, we may support flexible and hybrid work arrangements. Options will be discussed during the interview process.

Our ideal candidate has strong interpretative skill in all modalities including advanced applications. We work closely with other referrers, therefore strong interpersonal skills and a proven aptitude in dealing with other clinical teams are of great importance. Preference will be given to candidates who are adept at multiple modalities and who are willing to cross-cover in other areas when necessary.

The Department of Radiology has 100 full time faculty and performs more than 800,000 imaging exams each year on state-of-the-art equipment including MRI, CT, ultrasound, nuclear medicine, and radiography/fluoroscopy. We are both teaching and community hospital network. A successful candidate may be interested in teaching residents and fellows both within our department and also in other departments. We have a very active research program and provide strong support to foster academic growth and promotion.

Compensation and benefits packages are highly competitive. Salary and academic rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Salary ranges from $350,000 to $450,000. Benefits include college tuition reimbursement, tuition exemption for faculty members who wish to pursue graduate programs, and numerous retirement plans. There is ample time off for vacation and CME.


Position requires M.D. or D.O. degree. Candidate must be board certified or board eligible in diagnostic radiology and must be eligible to practice in the State of New York; narcotics license desirable.
