Description

The Technician is responsible for working with production manufacturing and process engineers to develop, research, produce, and observe manufacturing products and processes. Works in laboratories and production floor, conducts experiments, tests products and monitors processes.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Monitor production processes in manufacturing facilities.
  • Perform tests on products to ensure compliance to standards and specifications.
  • Prepares metallurgic samples for evaluation.
  • Observes and confers with equipment operators to ensure specified techniques are used. Recommends modification or change.
  • Participates in fabricating, installing, and modifying equipment to ensure that critical standards are met.
  • Tests and analyzes products to determine strength, stability, and other characteristics for a variety of purposes, including research and development.
  • May test and analyze radioactive materials, applying knowledge of radiological procedures, emission spectrometry, and related techniques.
  • Build and/or process customer product as required.
  • Travel required for testing of product, training, and/or installation support.
  • Compile and interpret results of tests and analyses. Prepare reports, charts and graphs.
  • Set up and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments.
  • Provide and maintain a safe work environment.
  • Able to work independently with little direct supervision.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • AS degree in Engineering/Technology.
  • 1 to 2 years' experience using a variety of test equipment.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Creative problem-solving capabilities.
  • Proficient with MS Office products (Word and Excel).
  • Must be a U.S. citizen due to government security clearance requirements. Applicants must be able to complete a federal background investigation and be granted a security clearance.

Starting salary: $23.49 - $28.32

Associates of Engineering (required)

Experience
1 to 2 years' experience using a variety of test equipment. (required)
