Job Description

The Program Mgmt Function Grp Mgr manages multiple teams of senior professionals through other senior managers. The job requires a broad and comprehensive understanding of the different systems, theories and practices relevant to a function as well as practical experience of multiple business cycles. In-depth knowledge of the industry and direct competitors' products/services is also necessary in order to contribute to the commercial objectives of the business. Requires thorough understanding of strategic direction of the function within the business, combined with a solid conceptual/practical grounding in both the function and/ or area of expertise. Excellent communication skills required in order to influence a wide range of audiences.

The Payment Risk and Control Transformation Officer is a strategic role within the payment operations division of ICG Ops. This position focuses on transforming payment risk and control frameworks to enhance operational efficiency, mitigate risks, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. The officer collaborates with various stakeholders to design and implement robust payment risk management strategies

Responsibilities:

1. Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Conduct comprehensive risk assessments of payment operations, identifying potential risks, vulnerabilities, and control gaps. Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies and control frameworks to safeguard the bank against payment-related risks, including fraud, operational errors, and regulatory non-compliance.

2. Process Improvement: Lead initiatives to enhance payment processes, streamline workflows, and reduce manual intervention. Identify opportunities for automation, digitization, and system enhancements to improve accuracy, efficiency, and control effectiveness.

3. Regulatory Compliance: Stay abreast of relevant payment regulations, industry best practices, and emerging trends. Ensure payment operations adhere to regulatory requirements, such as AML, KYC, and data privacy regulations. Collaborate with compliance teams to implement necessary controls and remediation measures.

4. Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including risk management, compliance, technology, and business units, to drive payment risk and control transformation initiatives. Provide subject matter expertise, guidance, and training to foster a culture of excellence within ICG Payment Operations

5. Operational Efficiency: Continuously assess and optimize payment processes to achieve operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Identify opportunities for process automation, digitization, and standardization to improve productivity and reduce errors.

6. Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Develop and implement key risk and control indicators (KRIs and KCI's) to monitor payment processing metrics, such as transaction volumes, error rates, and turnaround times. Generate regular reports and present findings to senior management for performance evaluation and strategic decision-making.


Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of experience, including 10+ years' managerial experience. Financial services industry experience preferred.
  • Proven experience in payment operations, preferably in a banking or financial services environment.
  • Strong knowledge of payment systems, industry standards (e.g., SWIFT, ACH), and regulatory requirements (e.g., NACHA, Dodd-Frank).
  • Familiarity with risk management frameworks and payment-related compliance (e.g., AML, KYC).
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail to identify and resolve payment-related issues.
  • Proficient in using payment processing software, data analysis tools, and MS Office suite.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and build relationships with clients and external partners.
  • Ability to adapt to changing regulations, industry trends, and technological advancements in the payment space.


Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, or a related field. A master's degree is a plus.
