Job Description

The Wholesale Credit Risk Technology Initiative Manager will be responsible for the direct management Program management function within the Institutional Credit Management (ICM) and Institutional Client Group (ICG). S/He will partner with key internal stakeholders (Institutional Credit Management functions including Underwriter, Transaction Manager, Portfolio Manager, Collateral Manager, Operations, Technology, and Risk) to drive end-to-end Readiness on a Front-to-Back strategy for Credit and service model that fully supports, satisfies and anticipates the reporting needs of the business and our regulators.

The role requires a broad and comprehensive understanding of multiple systems, theories and practices related to the Credit function. In-depth knowledge of the industry and direct competitors' products/services is also necessary to contribute to the commercial objectives of the business. The Credit Program Strategy Group Manager will develop medium to long term plans and execute functional strategies for complex regional and country structures requiring coordination and integration across units. S/He will provide input into strategic decisions affecting the credit function within a region or business.

The right candidate will understand the strategic direction of the credit function within the ICG business. Excellent communication skills are required to influence a wide range of audiences. The job may involve both internal and external negotiations which will have a major impact on the area managed, and possibly on related areas and organization.

The individual will have full management responsibility of multiple teams, including management of people, budget, and planning. S/He has the authority to negotiate and make independent decisions on issues/activities that have critical impact or influence on company revenues, capital, or business operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop strategic roadmap to drive execution of key automation, transformation, and regulatory initiatives to improve Credit Production function.
  • Develop practices around readiness for adoption and or integration of credit Management system with functions.
  • Develop a user support model to support users within the ecosystem.
  • Have a digital strategy to drive AI and chatbots strategy to automate day to day user support.
  • Collaborate with senior and executive management as a trusted advisor with sensible plans of action.
  • Lead communications with key internal (e.g., Citi executive leadership and Board) and external stakeholders (e.g., investor community, regulators).
  • Drive change management strategy through execution of strategic initiatives
  • Maintain awareness of changing industry trends, competition and regulations that impact any phase of success of the lending business.
  • Drive alignment across key business functions to prioritize and develop actionable initiatives
  • Identify, prioritize, and own execution of opportunities, end to end, to drive operational efficiency and better customer experience
  • Provide functional support to drive continuous improvement across the Loans area
  • Ensure key results are well defined and clearly communicated with relevant stakeholders
  • Advise Citi's senior management on high-priority initiatives, including growth strategy, product and segment strategies and cross business initiatives
  • Support performance measurement and management ranging from strategic franchise development scorecards to project/function-specific metrics.
  • Actively recruit and develop team members and encourage internal mobility opportunities.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.

Qualifications:

  • 12+ years of experience in Product delivery or Technology projects
  • Experience with a major consulting firm, including senior engagement management roles with client assignments of significant scope in consumer financial services
  • Demonstrates clear understanding of the drivers of performance and decision making to maximize results. Strategic thinker with proven ability to operationalize the strategy
  • Robust problem-solving skills
  • Communication skills and ability to influence others and deliver clearly articulate presentations to senior leaders. Ability to lead and direct a team of knowledge professionals.
  • Bachelor's/University degree or equivalent experience, Master's degree a plus.
