Institutional Credit Management (ICM) was formed to transform the way Citi manages the extension of wholesale credit to institutional clients. ICM is a global group focused on re-designing credit control process, policies, and technology to manage the wholesale lending process end-to-end. Within ICM we are responsible for building a comprehensive platform that will create a user centric experience that meets the needs across differing business lines, regions, and regulatory demands.

The Business Simplification and Process Reengineering role will drive the re-alignment and re-engineering of Global Credit Risk Management Services (CRMS) within the ICM organization by analyzing processes, controls, policy, and procedures while providing recommended product and technology solutions that will inform the simplification of the operating model. This position supports the strategic agenda and will require cross-functional collaboration with business, technology, and operational teams throughout the lifecycle of each initiative.

The ideal candidate will have experience with leading programs, process improvement, and change management. Excellent communication and diplomacy skills are required to negotiate internally at a senior level through ongoing governance forums, oversight committees, and reporting.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for designing business simplification and executing process reengineering strategies across Global CRMS as it relates to the end-to-end Wholesale Lending value chain
  • Support a risk management-based approach with proven methodologies to serve as enablers to the successful execution of the organizational strategy
  • Supports the day-to-day business process re-engineering efforts to support the established and prioritized initiatives and metrics to deliver business process improvements and simplification efforts across Global CRMS
  • Deliver efficiencies by understanding current state and target state models while recommending changes through re-alignment or re-engineering initiatives that drive the simplification of the operating and organizational models
  • Prioritize and plan change across businesses, in collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders, senior leadership, and support groups if/when applicable; includes individual project scoping.
  • Ensure initiatives align to the established control frameworks and are driving control automation, reducing reliance on manual solutions, and mitigating overall risk.
  • Perform other ad-hoc duties and functions as assigned.
Qualifications
  • 6+ years of experience within financial services and/or IT function in a large, matrixed, multinational organization; proven track record in supporting change within a large global bank and ability to connect the dots to the organizational priorities
  • Knowledge with the end-to-end Wholesale Lending value chain, with broad and comprehensive understanding of banking operations
  • Experience in value stream mapping, root cause analysis, change / project management
  • Experience in process design, process re-engineering, and process improvement is a must
  • Ability to rationalize and work through organizational change. Proven track record with envisioning ways to reengineer the process to create significant improvements.
  • Ability to influence and engage in a consultative mode with various senior stakeholders across business, operations, and technology to define the strategic scope.
  • Experience in major management consulting firms within the banking industry sector preferable.
  • Lean/Six Sigma Master Black Belt Certification preferable.
