Job Description

The Department of History at Columbia University seeks to hire a scholar at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor (tenure-track or tenured), or Professor in the field of US Latinx history to begin 1 July 2024. Candidates may specialize in any period and in any field of US Latinx history broadly conceived, including but not limited to the histories of peoples from Mexico, Central America, and the Hispanophone Caribbean and their descendants in the U.S. Teaching responsibilities will include graduate and undergraduate courses.

The successful applicant will show evidence of innovative scholarship and experience with teaching and advising and have the Ph.D. in hand by 1 July 2024.


PhD required at the time of appointment. Finalists will meet the current departmental needs for coverage in selected subfields.
