Director, Digital Product (Site Management) - West Elm

About the Role

The Director of Digital Product oversees a team of strategic project and product managers who support improving the customer experience for the ecommerce website and app. In this role, The Director will collaborate on the development of the digital strategy and end to end roadmap development and execution for full digital experience. The Director will leverage deep knowledge of digital products and services, understanding of strategic brand direction, technology architecture and big picture consumer needs to elevate the ecommerce experience for our customers.

  • Ideate, build and implement great digital products and experiences that deliver business value and improved consumer experiences
  • Work cross-functionally with site merchandising, site marketing, site operations, design, front-end developers, engineers and data science to deliver high quality customer centric features & experiences
  • Understand user pain points and requirements, develop strong roadmap, project plans, processes and execution while ensuring projects launch seamlessly, on time and without errors
  • Define and track key performance indicators to measure the success of products and initiatives, and use data-driven insights to optimize performance
  • Leads a team that is responsible for site stability and health - routing & prioritizing bug fixes
  • Ensures appropriate tooling is built and maintained to support business objectives
  • Communicate your strategy to ensure you have the support needed for successful enhancements & launches that improve the West Elm digital customer experience
  • Promote inclusive and innovative culture and principles within cross functional teams, while setting new standards in executional and operational excellence
  • Hire/train/appraise eight or more direct reports
  • Complete and direct special projects while managing day to day projects and trouble-shooting across business issues

  • Experience in digital experience, eCommerce, project or product management, planning and execution
  • Proven track record in building elevated experience and managing eCommerce initiatives for large enterprises
  • Successful track record with agile methodologiesand iterative development processes
  • Deep understandingof eCommerceproducts, platforms and technologies
  • Exceptional communication, presentation and interpersonalskills;ability to influence across a matrixed organization
  • Deep understandingof eCommerceproducts, platforms and technologies
  • Overall 7-10 years experience in Digital-specialty retail or premium brands
  • 5 - 7 years management experience required
