The Commercial Contract Manager is responsible for creating, reviewing, negotiating, finalizing, and tracking commercial agreements. In addition, the successful candidate will develop, implement, and maintain systems or processes to ensure that all contracting parties are aware of their deliverables, rights, risks, compliance obligations, and overall responsibilities. This position will participate in litigation matters, as needed, and will represent the company with the highest level of integrity.

What You'll Do...

  • Create, review, edit, negotiate, and finalize a broad spectrum of commercial contracts, including service contracts of significant scale and complexity, to appropriately allocate risks and establish performance expectations.
  • Communicate business risks associated with proposed terms and conditions to executive and operational leaders and propose business-minded options.
  • Review, understand, catalog, and monitor customer and company compliance with contract terms and conditions.
  • Track contract modifications, amendments, extensions, and closeouts, and partner with operational leaders to ensure related protocols are performed and documented both timely and appropriately.
  • Develop contract and compliance tracking systems and use data to drive improvements to contract compliance and commercial outcomes.
  • Proactively identify emerging contract budget, performance, compliance, and legal issues, and facilitate and coordinate solutions with a variety of corporate teams.
  • Partner with internal and external counsel on commercial, compliance, and contract litigation matters, as needed.
  • Operate at the highest levels of integrity, ethical behavior, judgment, and discretion.
  • These primary responsibilities are not intended to be all-inclusive and other duties may be assigned, as appropriate.

What You'll Need...

  • Bachelors' degree or equivalent experience in lieu of bachelors' degree required, with MBA strongly preferred.
  • 5+ years of primary responsibility for contract management and reporting.
  • Experience managing contracts with public utilities or electrical cooperatives is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated solid understanding of legal terminology and contract provisions.
  • Highly self-motivated with strong communication,

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and similar office software.

  • Ability to use tact and professionalism including in times of extreme stress.
  • This position requires coordination with full-time, in-office executives. For that reason, during the first 6 months of employment the successful candidate will not be eligible for remote-work, telecommuting, or flex-time arrangements other than as required by law.
