Responsibilities

NYTech's College of Osteopathic Medicine seeks a Postdoctoral Fellow located at the Old Westbury campus. This is an NIH grant funded position.

Responsibilities:

    Manage individual laboratory experiments as agreed upon and approved by the supervising professor, Weikang Cai, Ph.D. This includes implementing the experimental design, data collection, statistical analysis, writing, and submitting manuscripts.
  • Training and overseeing research data collection by students, lab technicians, and possibly other junior postdoctoral fellows.
  • Assisting with and writing grant proposals.
  • Attending and presenting at seminars/journal clubs.

Qualifications

PhD, MD, DO, DVM, DDS, or other doctoral level biomedical degree and basic Biomedical Research in molecular biology and neuroscience is required.

Must have general knowledge of molecular biology and cell biology.

Strong background in neuroscience, particularly in dopaminergic neural circuits. Experience with animal behavioral and physiological assessment.

Experience with classic neuroscience techniques, including stereotaxic surgery and microdialysis is preferred.

Ability to search and analyze literature, formulate hypotheses, design experiments, implement experiments, analyze data, prepare and submit publications.

Must have excellent analytical, problem solving and communication skills.
