Position: Environmental Group/Department Manager - Albany, NY

Terracon is seeking an experienced environmental practitioner, leader, and accomplished senior Project and Client Manager to join the leadership team in our Albany, New York office as an Environmental Group/Department Manager. This leadership role will be tasked with continuing to grow our local presence and providing the excellent technical services our clients expect.

Terracon works on a diverse set of projects including environmental site assessments (Phase I/II ESAs); comprehensive site characterization and risk assessments; remedial design, installation, and O&M; environmental planning; and asbestos & industrial hygiene (IH) projects. We are a multi-discipline solution provider including geotechnical and materials services. Essential Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Provide leadership and management of Environmental staff with a goal of growing the business and department
  • Assume senior project/client management and oversight duties for portfolio of existing workload
  • In partnership with the Office Manager, develop and execute on business development strategies to build/grow backlog for the Environmental team
  • Provide excellent service to existing clients ensuring repeat business while utilizing local presence, experience, and relationships to build upon the client list
  • Provide environmental support to multiple service lines including industrial hygiene, geotechnical services, construction and building materials, serving as an inter-disciplinary team member in meetings and communications with clients pertaining to specific projects/tasks
  • Possess strong understanding of federal, state, and local regulatory requirements
  • Understand and follow project quality and corporate quality standards for all projects
  • Demonstrate a commitment and lead Terracon's journey to Injury and Incident Free (IIF), including our rules and practices, guidelines, and standards for incident and injury free operations
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in technical discipline practiced by the firm including Engineering, Environmental Science or Geology; Master's degree preferred
  • Minimum of 10 years of practice experience; or, in lieu of a degree, a minimum of 12 years of related experience
  • Experience with conventional environmental services as well as executing and managing projects and proposals
  • Proven client/business development experience
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable violation history
Preferred Certification:
  • Certification or licensure in field of expertise

The expected salary range for this position is listed below. The base range may be adjusted based on the specific location of the applicant. Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience.
$92700 - $143700 annually
