Job Summary

We are currently seeking a Construction Inspector (NICET Level III or approved equivalent) for our PMCM team to work on a construction project located in the City of Rochester, New York. This position will be on-site and involves construction inspection and administrative duties for the Repair and Reconstruction of City Parking Garages contracts. The hired candidate will assist with all necessary activities to start, continue, and close-out this construction project.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Conduct field visits and perform construction administration to ensure work is in compliance with plans, specifications and construction control documents.
  • Completes daily inspection reports and daily diaries in Manual of Uniform Record Keeping (MURK) format.
  • Create meeting agendas and minutes; distribute and file.
  • Log and manage project submittals, RFI's and correspondence.
  • Creates Monthly Progress Payments and Creates Contract Change Orders.
  • Accurately track contract change orders, material inspection, certification, and additional documentation.
  • Assures general compliance with City of Rochester and other agency standards and specifications.
  • Knowledge of Post-Tensioned Construction, Structural Concrete, Concrete Sealing and Waterproofing.
  • Communicates with DES Engineering & Architecture, City Parking Services, City Building Services and Rochester Riverside Convention Center.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have a valid NICET Level III certification or possess equivalent education and experience.
  • At least five years of experience with construction inspection and daily report writing preferred. Experience with City of Rochester, or other local agencies a plus.
  • Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel required.
  • Experience with reinforced concrete is required; experience with post-tensioned concrete is preferred.
  • Must possess excellent technical skills. ACI certification is preferred.
