The Ultra Sales & Marketing function is responsible for growth of both the business development opportunity pipeline and the closure of sales by negotiating the terms and conditions in contracts. Through good business development practices and strong, senior-level customer interaction this function will deliver the defined business opportunities and develop a marketing strategy that demonstrates achievable levels of profitable growth in line with the overall business plan. This function is instrumental in setting the strategy for the business for all aspects of marketing and sales.

Candidates must be eligible to obtain the relevant security clearance required for the role, due to the nature of the programmes we deliver for our customers.

Job Description

Under the direction of the VP of BD, the Bids and Proposal Analyst is responsible for managing proposal activities and the development and implementation of pursuit plans, proposal schedules, gate reviews and marketing strategy.

  • Review Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and participate in the development of win plans with bid teams that include Business Development, CTO, Program Management, Engineering, Operations, contracts, and Finance
  • Support the development and participate in proposal gate reviews
  • Guide bid teams using the Ultra Maritime (UM) bid governance policy and procedures to ensure compliance
  • Prepare UM bid documents to facilitate UM approvals and compliance with governance requirements
  • Coordinate and support proposal kick-off meeting and gate reviews
  • Develop and implement proposal plans, templates, and proposal schedules
  • Support the development of various RFP response sections to ensure alignment with the customer requirements including compliance matrices
  • Coordinate proposal formatting, writing, editing, and proof-reading efforts based on cross department inputs
  • Facilitate bid and proposal review meetings and drive content completion
  • Assist with the preparation and maintenance of various reports required to support the RFP response process
  • Maintain and track opportunity records in the CRM
  • Develop and coordinate bid capture activities with the marketing team
  • Undertake special projects, as may be assigned from time to time, from the VP of BD

  • Bachelor's degree at minimum in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field,
  • 5+ years related business management experience
  • Candidate must be capable of acquiring a US Secret Clearence

  • Excellent skills with MS Office suite, in particular Word, Excel and MS Project, PowerPoint, and SharePoint
  • Willing to understand the company's products and technology and apply this knowledge to market research, proposals, and presentation materials
  • Competent research and analysis skills
  • Skill in maintaining positive relations with others, both inside and outside the Organization, and obtaining cooperation; skill in maintaining a high degree of tact and judgment in interactions with others
  • Willingness to work out of normal business hours and time zone, as required
  • Experience with a CRM is a plus
  • Ability to support the development of storyboards and effectively communicate capture/proposal strategies

Expected Compensation: The expected compensation for this role is between $70,000-$85,000 annually. Please note, this is the expected compensation however, Ultra Maritime considers many factors in determining compensation prior to offer, such as: responsibilities and scope of role, candidate's work experience and education related to position, applicable certifications or trainings, business and market conditions.
