Saab is seeking a dynamic, results-oriented individualto fill the Supply Chain Director position. At Saab, the Supply Chain Director will support the strategic vison and goals of Supply Chain (for all US locations) reporting directly to the Senior Director of Supply Chain for Saab, Inc.

Key accountabilities:

  • Assist in the development, implementation, and achievement of the goals and strategic vision of Supply Chain in collaboration with the Supply Chain Leadership team.

  • Lead the management of Saab's ERP system to enhance KPIs and improve the Supplier Management Program and foster our supplier performance regarding on-time delivery, customer service, quality, sustainability and YOY savings.

  • Be the Supply chain lead for the SIOP process in collaboration with other Senior Leaders across Operations and Business Units.

  • Exhibit strong background in reviewing contracts, requests for proposals (RFPs), supplier agreements, and customer agreements for legal accuracy, price, and acceptability of items to specifications; negotiating or supervising the negotiation of complex proposals; and implementation ofRFP and request for quote (RFQ) processes to assess and evaluate sourcing alternatives.

  • Provide expert, authoritative advice to key stakeholders on all aspects of supply chain strategy and practice to inform business planning and action, encourage innovative approaches and enhance value through improved procurement efficiency and outcomes.

  • Ensure compliance with government and corporate regulations (particularly FAR and DFARS), DoD and FAA procurement regulations.

Compensation Range: $154,300-$204,500

    The compensation range provided is a general guideline. When extending an offer, Saab, Inc. considers factors including (but not limited to) the role and associated responsibilities, location, and market and business considerations, as well as the candidate's work experience, key skills, and education/training.

    Skills and Experience:
    • Bachelor's degree in business or related Operations discipline.

    • 15+ years of relevant experience in a DoD/DCMA contractor environment and advanced level of FAR/DFAR regulations in relationship to best USG Procurement practices.

    • 8+ years of direct and indirect purchasing management experience.

    • Strong leadership, negotiation, communication, collaboration, and planning skills.

    • Knowledge of Oracle or other ERP systems to increase operational effectiveness, profitability, and timely performance within the procurement function.

    • Application of Lean, Six-Sigma or other continuous improvement methodologies to enhance processes, procedures, and forms/templates in the areas of supplier development, lean purchasing, and technology-driven innovation.

    • Successful track record of developing, implementing, and managing CPSR procurement systems.

    • Demonstrated Material Management Program Planning skills.

    • Strong managerial skills of employees of varied degrees of skills and employee development.

    • Proven budget management skills.

    • Ability to work within a matrixed environment.

    • Ability to achieve DoD Secret Clearance Status

    Desired Skills and Experience:

    • Professional certification (CPM, etc.)

    • International SCM experience.

    • Extensive technical understanding of surveillance systems, aeronautics, or other high technology systems within Defense.

    Citizenship Requirements:

    Must be a U.S. citizen. Applicants selected may be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
