Position Summary:


We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as an Outreach Program Coordinator.

The Alzheimers Disease Research Center (ADRC) at the NYU Langone Grossman School of Medicine is one of 37 centers across the United States funded by the National Institute on Aging to provide a foundation for the integration of clinical and research activities in Alzheimer's disease, related dementia-causing diseases, and healthy cognitive aging.
The ADRC is hiring an Outreach Program Coordinator to work with the Outreach, Recruitment and Education (ORE) Core to meet identified goals related to recruitment, community events, and educational presentations, with a particular focus on Black/ African Americans Communities. This position will also be part of the ADRC psychosocial core and administer research evaluations to older adults.

Job Responsibilities:

    • Recruitment and Retention- Identify and recruit older adults in the community into the ADRC's longitudinal study, related ADRC studies, and the Center for Cognitive Neurology clinical trials program, with an emphasis on recruiting individuals from traditionally underserved groups.
    • Event Coordination- Coordinate community events and provide education related to Alzheimer's Disease and healthy brain aging. Events are held both on-site, in the community and on Zoom.
    • Community Engagement- Serve as a liaison with partnering community agencies, senior centers. churches, and other groups to organize and facilitate outreach and recruitment events.
    • Administer psychosocial evaluations to research participants to look at psychological, emotional and social determinates of health and the impact on cognition.
    • Create culturally competent/inclusive outreach materials, including assistance with newsletter.
    • Utilize Epic (EMR system) to identify eligible research participants.
    • Maintain databases to track interested research participants as well as screened, enrolled, and withdrawn subjects.
    • Willingness to learn and/or be trained on various study related procedures (i.e. consenting, cognitive testing)
    • Participates in special projects and performs other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:


To qualify you must have a Bachelor's Degree in public health, social work, social/health psychology or related field. At least two years of experience coordinating project/programs or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Proficiency in using various Microsoft Office applications such as World, Excel, Power Point and Outlook. Familiar with Internet applications. Effective oral, written, communication, interpersonal skills. Ability to interface effectively internally and with the public, particularly older adults. Ability to work within a team environment as well as independently. Time management skills and ability to work well under pressure.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Black/African American community/community organizations. Experience with outreach to underserved communities.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $58,500.00 - $80,572.96 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
