Job Description

The Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory of Columbia University is accepting applications for a Postdoctoral Research Scientist (PDRS) in the broad area at the intersection of radiation, circulation and climate. The Postdoctoral Research Scientist will be conducting research and working on problems related to climate forcing and response, especially as related to clouds and climate feedback. The PDRS will be supervised by Robert Pincus (primary) and Lorenzo Polvani. The project team anticipates making an appointment for one year with the opportunity to renew for a 2nd year.


Candidates should have completed or be nearing completion of a Ph.D. in Atmospheric and Climate Sciences or closely related discipline.

The search will remain open for at least 30 days after the ad appears and will continue until the position is filled.

Initial appointment will be for one year with continuation for a second year dependent on research progress. There is currently two years of funding in place.
