Job Summary

Optimum is seeking a highly strategic and results driven leader to serve as the Senior Director, Market Development. In this role, you will be contributing to forming the market expansion strategies including New Markets, Edge Out, Subsidy (Bead) for both B2C and B2B, and will be responsible for executing on these strategies.

Responsibilities
  • Partner with the Growth team on research and planning efforts required to successfully enter new markets, including regulatory compliance, infrastructure requirements, and local market dynamics
  • Work with cross-functional team to develop go-to-market strategies and tactics, ensuring alignment with corporate goals and objectives
  • Identify and assess new market opportunities, leveraging comprehensive market research and competitive analysis
  • Lead and collaborate on identification of opportunities and market entry plans with Growth team, Area GMs, Construction, Government Affairs (GA) and Finance to track and ensure ROI on investment performance
  • Drive delivery of the homes passed budget and broadband penetration
  • Develop and manage the market expansion budget along with clear financial targets (OKRs and KPIs) that justify the investment allocations
  • Build a market expansion roadmap and execute on it in alignment with Optimum's Product/Market Development Process teams to deliver on the target results
  • Engage various stakeholders to assess market expansion opportunities and develop a clear ROI for each that drives the decision to move forward
  • Develop and maintain a DACI (Driver|Approver|Contributor|Informed) model to govern the execution of various market expansion projects and ensure accountability
  • Leads efforts to identify, negotiate, and cultivate strategic alliances and partnerships that enhance market entry and expansion efforts (ex. Government Subsidies)
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies and local authorities, to facilitate market entry and compliance (i.e. Permitting)
  • Establish and manage robust performance measurement and reporting mechanisms to track the progress of market development initiatives
  • Present regular reports to the executive leadership team (ELT) highlighting achievements and challenges
  • Leverage government funding (i.e., BEAD) to support market expansion and growth (Offense) and protect against subsidized overbuild (Defense)
Qualifications
  • 10+ years' experience in the areas of Market Planning, Business Development, Sales, and/or Portfolio Management in fiber build or telecommunications industry
  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred
  • Proven track record of successfully leading strategic market development and planning efforts in the telecommunications or broadband industry
  • Familiarity with regulatory and compliance considerations in the broadband industry is an advantage
  • Strong financial acumen with experience managing P&L responsibilities
  • Exceptional strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Proven track record as a collaborative cross-functional leader who can drive action and deliverables regardless of reporting relationships
  • Excellent leadership and team management abilities
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • Located out of either Long Island City, NY or Plano, TX with willingness to travel as needed to support market expansion activities

This position is identified as being performed in/or reporting to company operations in New York State. Salary ranges are supplied in compliance with New York State law. Pay is competitive and based on a number of job-related factors, including skills and experience. The starting pay rate/range at time of hire for this position inNew York is $183,600.00- $216,800.00 / year. For other locations, please inquire with your recruiter. The rates/ranges provided herein are the anticipated pay at the time of hire, and do not reflect future job opportunity.
