Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Benefits Financial Analyst.

As part of the HR Benefits Strategy Team and reporting to the Manager of Benefit Planning and Resources, this role is responsible for financial management of expenses related to comprehensive benefit programs that enhance the employee experience and drive cost savings. Understands and is proficient in analyzing benefit programs to identify areas for improvement and make data-driven recommendations resulting in enhanced benefits offerings and cost savings.

Job Responsibilities:

* Responsible for the day-to-day management of payment for all health and welfare and retirement plans, fringe benefits, life & disability insurance, and ancillary benefits.
* Ensures timely and meticulous review of reports generated based on electronic transmission of eligibility and election data to vendor partners (including management of error reporting and troubleshooting any system or integration issues).
* Administers reconciliation of all benefit expenses and accounts and participates in annual and on demand audits.
* Analyzes past and present financial data related to NYU Langone Health's fringe benefit expenses and projects estimate of future expenditures. Based on trends in the market and data from vendors, is able to prepare parts of the fringe budget for the upcoming fiscal year.
* Prepares additional financial reports and collects industry research to inform decision making.
* Is able to demonstrate strong learning agility in assuming various projects across benefits administration to improve operations and find innovative solutions to existing or new problems and processes. Is able to communicate and explain complex ideas in straightforward language.
* Is able to understand of key business drivers related to workforce staffing, issues and risks to be able to forecast impact on fringe expenses.
* Prepares reporting packages and financial templates with detailed analysis.
* Is able to prepare leadership presentations related to complex benefit data.
* Effectively interacts with vendor actuaries and leaders on long-term and short-term projects that may include a multitude of data formats and sources, cooperation with various stakeholders, and problem solving with the available data.
* Translates financial information in meaningful and transformative ways for training and decision-making purposes.
* Is able to effectively use large scale Excel data analysis and use of advanced formulas; runs and manages queries in PeopleSoft Financials.
* Contributes energetically to an environment of effective financial reporting and analysis, time utilization and prioritization, compliance with regulations, and practices.
* Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Education: Bachelor's degree.
Experience: One to three years related work experience; actuarial experience is preferred.
Specific Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Strong analytical and critical thinking skills are essential. Superior communication, Excel, PowerPoint and overall computer skills are required. Possesses strong customer service and problem-solving skill sets.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $76,721.84 - $100,000.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
