Tempest Engineer

Full-Time


If you're ready for the challenge of working for a dynamic organization, Dayton T. Brown, Inc. has an opportunity for an experienced Tempest Engineer. You will perform and oversee Tempest test and design programs for external clients. Expertise in the areas of Tempest design, test, interpretation of requirements, evaluation of results, and recommendations to meet all Tempest requirements is required for this position. You will be responsible for providing Tempest expertise to clients and their programs and work independently to satisfy client requirements.


Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Prepare test plans, controlling plans, and prepare test reports
  • Perform and oversee and/or direct Tempest tests at DTB and at client facilities.
  • Perform Tempest equipment and facility certifications
  • Provide engineering expertise to clients for design.

Additional responsibilities will include:

  • Support of DTB sales team in finding, developing, bidding and proposals, for new clients and programs.
  • Prepare and present technical presentations to clients
  • Establish and maintain a continuing relationship with clients



The ideal Candidate will need:

  • 4 yr. BSEE degree
  • Certified Tempest Professional, Level II
  • 5+ yrs. in Tempest test experience
  • Experience with Tempest specifications
  • Hands-on experience with Tempest test instrumentation, NSTISSAM, NACSEM 5112, AMSG a PLUS
  • MUST have a strong understanding of the EMI/EMC Tiles software program
  • MUST be able to write the necessary programs to support the department's workload
  • Must have knowledge to Quote EMI/EMC test programs, full knowledge of MIL-STD-461 and DO-160
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • US Citizenship and current US government security clearance is required
  • Occasional travel required
