Position Overview

C&S is seeking a Project Architect or Interior Designer in our Buffalo or Rochester office with strong design, project management, technical and creative skills to provide architectural / interior design and project management services. Responsibilities include management and oversight of projects including design, quality, schedules, budgets, and client liaison. Must also coordinate with other disciplines within and outside of the firm. In addition, there will be opportunities to participate in marketing activities (i.e. development of technical and cost proposals) to assist in growing our architectural business unit.

We are looking for an individual with strong client relationship and management skills, creativity, and is a self-starter and assist in growing our architectural and interior design studio in Western New York.

Position Responsibilities

  • Responsible for working on all phases of company projects, such as: client relationships, design, specifications, project team coordination, construction documents, and consultant interaction.
  • Participates in conceptual design and provides full support throughout entire project.
  • Serves as subject matter expert and develops lead technical viewpoint on projects
  • Client relationship management and relationship building across New York.
  • Utilize safe work practices in accordance with federal, state, local, and company standards.
  • Communicate incidents, accidents, near misses, potential hazards, and unsafe working conditions to a supervisor or the Health and Safety Department as soon as identified.

Skills/Education/Experience

  • 10+ years of related architectural and/or interior design and project management experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Architecture or Interior Design and professional licensure.
  • Comprehensive understanding of design and construction documents.
  • Proficiency in REVIT is preferred.
  • Knowledge of building codes.
  • Ability to succeed in small and large multi-disciplinary team environments.
  • Ability to set deadlines, assign resources, monitor/summarize project progress.
  • Good graphic, communications (verbal and written) and presentation skills.
  • Self-motivated with ability to lead small project teams and multiple projects from concept to construction.

Estimated Compensation Range: $95,000-115,000/year*

*Actual compensation may vary based on related work experience, geographical location and market conditions, education/training, certifications, and other credentials, as well as applicable knowledge and skills.
