Title: Mid-level Engineer

Location: Amesbury, MA

What's the Opportunity?

Anchor QEA is seeking a full-time engineer to support our expanding remedial investigation, remedial design, and remedial action activities. We are interested in a candidate that has the capacity to grow, is a quick learner, is detail-orientated, is a committed team player, and possesses strong written and verbal communication skills. This position will support environmental engineering projects involving upland and in-water sediment characterization and remediation, waterfront engineering, shoreline restoration, coastal resiliency, source control evaluations, water quality assessments, and construction management. Successful candidates will have an opportunity to work on a variety of tasks of differing complexities, both independently and in team environments, learning directly from leaders in the industry.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop technical project work and review the work of others for small to medium-sized single-disciplined or multi-disciplined projects.
  • Prepare and coordinate sampling and analysis plans, remedial investigation and feasibility study reports, engineering calculations, and design documents, including engineering drawings and technical specifications.
  • Oversee and/or develop engineer's cost estimates and construction schedules for designs.
  • Task management, including team coordination, production of deliverables, and client interaction.
  • Develop construction planning documents and provide construction observations and management support.
  • Field assignments including conducting environmental sampling (soil, sediment, groundwater, and water quality) and construction management support during remedial action project implementation.


What Are We Looking For?

Ideal candidates will have the following:

  • BS or MS degree in relevant engineering field (civil, environmental, geotechnical)
  • 5 to 10 years of relevant work experience as an Environmental, Remediation, or Civil Engineer conducting environmental investigations.
  • Experience with in-water and upland remediation sites, including the planning and implementation of sampling, data analysis, feasibility studies, and remedial design. Preference will be given to candidates who have experience in contaminated sediments, including capping and dredging remediation projects.
  • Experience with CERCLA and RCRA regulations and application to various stages of a remediation project
  • Experience working with regulators (USEPA, USACE, and/or State regulators).
  • Strong understanding of the application of engineering principles to engineering design, including cost estimating, development of plans and specifications, development of bid packages, development of dredge plans, and overseeing design implementation in the field (i.e., construction oversight and management).
  • Professional Engineering (PE) licensure or plan to obtain in near future.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • AutoCAD Civil 3D experience a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Critical thinking and strong problem-solving skills.
  • 40-hour HAZWOPER certification (CFR 1910.120).
  • Ability to travel for field and/or construction projects.
