The Coding Specialist will abstract diagnostic data and report ICD-10 codes and other information - as applicable to the project. This project requires a strong knowledge of ICD-10 - CM diagnostic coding and HCC documentation requirements.

Required Qualifications:

  • Active certified coder certification through AHIMA or AAPC (CRC, CPC, CCS - P certs are accepted). RHIA and RHIT are also accepted. CCA, CPC-A are not accepted
  • 3+ years of experience as a certified coder
  • 3+ years of experience with ICD-10-CM outpatient diagnosis coding guidelines and ability to code using an ICD - CM code book (without using an encoder)
  • 1+ years of risk adjustment experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Solid clinical knowledge related to chronic illness diagnosing validations, treatment and management
  • Have high-speed Internet access and home computer with a current Windows operating system, using Internet Explorer
  • Personal discipline to work independently without direct supervision and commitment to meet tight guidelines
  • Exemplary attention to detail and completeness

New York Residents Only: The hourly range for New York residents is $23.22 to $45.43 per hour.
