Project Engineering Assistant

This position requires a highly energetic, detail-oriented individual who will assist the Project Manager(s) and Project Engineer(s) with project/task management, scheduling, documentation, estimating, and budget control on all aspects of Engineering projects.

Primary Responsibilities

The primary duties of the Project Engineering Assistant require a hands-on team player who will be able to assist multiple project managers on a daily basis. Accurate and timely performance and strong multi-tasking skills are essential. The main focus is to assist the Project Manager with the management of a project, emphasizing project financial and schedule health. Specific responsibilities include documentation, development and monitoring of project budgets and schedules for large, multi-discipline projects; Monitoring and tracking the progress of project work; project reviews, quality audits, preparation of project budget and schedule status reports and presentations; project set-up and preparation of client billings; revenue recognition; working with project managers to proactively identify project budget and schedule problems and implement corrective actions; review and processing of invoices; monitoring the status of accounts receivable and outreach to clients to determine invoice status and secure payment.

Additional responsibilities include ad hoc special reporting and ensuring that procedures and practices are followed in accordance with company policy, accounting principles and contractual obligations. Position provides an excellent opportunity for someone who is looking to develop their skills in project management and project controls.

Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in engineering

* Strong interpersonal skills.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, Access, Adobe Acrobat, Outlook, Oracle and PowerPoint.
* Ability to prioritize competing demands for your time in a fast-paced environment.
* Ability to deal effectively with a diversity of individuals at all organizational levels.
* Strong organizational skills; able to manage priorities and workflow.
* An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture required.
* Candidates who reside locally in the NY/NJ metro area

Preferred qualifications:

  • 1 years' experience in engineering or construction field
  • Experience and/or interest in project management and of tracking projects and keeping them on budget and in schedule

* Ability to perform diversified clerical functions and basic accounting procedures.

The expected compensation range for this position is $60,000- $89,000 annually depending upon skills, experience, education and geographical location. (Stated benefits are for full-time regular positions. Temporary and part-time roles eligible for limited benefits.)
