Job Description

Manages all areas of the tax function at Datadog such as leading the tax strategy, preparing tax provision calculations, tax compliance globally, tax financial reporting for Datadog properly reflects its income tax expense and liabilities, sales tax, state and local taxes, R&D tax credits, and transfer pricing.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead tax planning initiatives while ensuring we remain compliant with enacted and pending legislation which can impact the Company's tax footprint
  • Lead interim and year-end provision calculations, in accordance with ASC 740 and SOX internal controls
  • Lead all M&A activities from a tax perspective, including due diligence and integration
  • Lead all tax compliance filings globally, indirect and corporate taxes, working closely with the international accounting team to ensure timely and accurate filings
  • Interface with tax authorities (as required) for tax examinations and other inquires initiated by various tax agencies
  • Lead global tax credit initiatives, including R&D credits
  • Ensure all compensation tax is in compliance, including equity, globally
  • Serves as a consultant to the rest of the company on all tax matters including transactions with customers, vendors, M&A tax strategy, etc

Who You Are

  • Requirements include a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance and a professional designation, such as CPA, JD, LLM, MST.
  • 12-15+ years extensive knowledge in corporate and international taxation with an emphasis on dispute resolution, coupled with tax provision experience; overall work experience will be the overriding factor when considering years of experience
  • Experience with SaaS related business is a plus
  • Big 4 accounting or law firm background and prior corporate tax department experience
  • Ability to interpret and apply tax law
  • Proven ability to rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals in a fast-paced, changing environment
  • Strong management and project management skills
  • Ability to organize, manage and work effectively to accomplish multiple tasks while working independently
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel specifically) as well as Google Suite, and ability to navigate within various tax software programs
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and in groups to complete time-sensitive projects within internal and external deadlines
  • Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to work with people at all levels in the organization
