Job Description

This leadership role is critical for delivering our Advisory services not only in the North East of the US but across North America. In parallel to leading the delivery of Advisory services there will be a need to build a team of Advisory practitioners who will be integrated with the North American Advisory Regional practice as well as the broader business to ultimately serve our clients with high value advisory services which complement our traditional engineering and technical offerings.

The Candidate will lead a team to deliver strategic advisory roles for both public sector and private sector lead mandates with services covering business casing and economics, alternative procurement approaches, due diligence, climate change and sustainability and asset management for major infrastructure developments. Our advisory service offering requires our practitioners to have a balance of an analytical mindset with strong project management and risk based expertise to communicate concisely and confidently to senior levels of client organizations.

Typical work will involve:

  • Establishing the role as Advisory Lead as the North East Unit providing strategic advice and guidance to both internal teams and external clients
  • Integrating with Mott MacDonald's North America Advisory Practice network to support and provide oversight of Advisory mandates
  • Support the development of the Advisory services specifically as it relates to Alternative Procurement advice for major transportation infrastructure clients
  • Recruit and oversee Advisory practitioners within the North East Unit office locations
  • Supporting public sector authorities with strategic advice for the procurement and capital expenditure of their infrastructure programs and projects;
  • Supporting the development of procurement documentation, including but not limited to alternative forms of procurement such as P3s, CMGCs, and PDBs;
  • Supporting a range of projects with structured decision-making and options assessment/appraisal mandates.
  • Supporting climate resilience and adaptation strategies, assessments, and implementation plans for clients
  • Project management mandates;
  • Drafting reports and project audits;
  • Supporting risk management for both internal and external mandates;
  • Supporting and leading the preparation of proposals;
  • Internal project management (including budgets) and reporting; and
  • Supporting initiatives for the regional and global business.

Candidates who can demonstrate the following skills and experience will be considered for the role:

  • A post-secondary degree with 15-20+ years of career experience related to the development of technical procurement documentation, engineering and/or infrastructure development;
  • Experience and knowledge of the construction industry / built environment;
  • Familiar and proficient with project management processes;
  • Experience of projects in multiple sectors (e.g. Built environment, Transportation, Water, Energy etc.);
  • Knowledge and experience of risk identification, management and mitigation;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and experience of leading and working within a team;
  • Excellent written and presentation skills;
  • Able to work independently and unsupervised;
  • Positive attitude, team player.

Salary Range:$170k-190k
