The Role

Work with the Director, USTA & US Open Security, responsible for managing year-round security for the National Tennis Center as well as all safety & security-related operations for the US Open.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THE US OPEN

Manage the US Open Command Center, including the following additional duties and responsibilities stated below, reporting to and collaborating with, the Director, USTA & US Open Security:

    Collaborate with USTA staff in the management of pre-tournament coordination for the Player Amenity and Patron Entry / Egress Locations, including the set-up and tear-down of these areas as well as involvement with the staff and training of these locations.
  • Manage the planning and execution of US Open Command Center Operations, including; equipment and supplies, such as Loaner Laptops, Loaner Phones, Portable Radios, etc.
  • Coordinate with the Senior Manager - Security in planning and managing the US Open Medical Services.
  • Participate in the US Open Training Program.
  • Plan and manage contract security deployments for the US Open

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES FOR USTA SAFETY & SECURITY

Assist Director, USTA & US Open Security with developing, managing and implementing year-round Safety & Security protocols for Purchase, National Tennis Center (NTC), to include the Chase Center/ITC and the Arthur Ashe Stadium Fire Command Station as stated below:

  • Assist the Senior Manager with the Card and Visitor Access Program
  • Collaborate with cross functional partners on the Fire & Life Safety Plan and Training
  • Maintain and revise the Business Continuity Plan
  • Coordinate with the Senior Manager of Security in the maintenance of the Emergency Action Plan
  • Collaborate with the Senior Manager of Security in the management of Contracted Security Staff
  • Work on USTA cross-functional projects, as directed.
  • Subject matter expert for US Open EMS (Event Management System)
  • Partner with the Senior Manager of Security in the regular auditing of the access card system
  • Partner with USTA security leadership on international tennis events
  • Liaison with federal, state, and local agencies for US Open Security Operations
  • Assist the Senior Manager of security with the ordering and placement of AEDs at BJKNTC
  • Support the deployment of non-US Open event security

Who You Are

  • Bachelor's Degree (or higher) required
  • 3-5 years of Security, Event Operations, or Project Management is required
  • Ability and experience with successful project management.
  • Requires ability to interact with senior level staff and high-end clients.
  • Candidate must be able to operate independently and manage staff.
  • Candidate must be creative and adept at time management.
  • Candidate must have experience with the Google Suite of applications, and be able to learn new software programs/systems
  • This position is based at the BJK National Tennis Center and is designated as "hybrid/flex" which may allow for both remote and on-site work. Any such position must meet the current USTA hybrid/flex requirements as updated from time to time. Please consult HR for the most current policy
  • This position is considered exempt

The expected range for the base salary for this position is $62,000 - 77,000. This range does not include any additional pay or benefits for which a person may qualify. The actual base salary offered is determined by several variables, including, as appropriate, the applicant's qualifications for the position, the years of relevant experience, their unique skills, and the location from which they will be performing the job.
