PAGNY for NYC Health + Hospitals/South Brooklyn Health (formerly Coney Island Hospital), located in Southern Brooklyn, accommodates more than 250,000 outpatient visits, more than 89,000 emergency room visits, and with 371 beds, more than 15,000 inpatient admissions annually. PAGNY is seeking a full time Chairperson, Department of Pathology at South Brooklyn Hospital

Responsibilities:
- Assumes clinical responsibility in conjunction with the team, with at least 60% of effort dedicated to direct clinical care.
- Serve as Pathology Department representative on the facility Tumor Board and attend all tumor board meetings
- Manage administrative responsibilities such as effective integration and coordination of the clinical services, department scheduling, conducting clinical staff meetings, orienting and mentoring all new Physicians and Advanced Practice Clinicians
- Ensure clinical staff is continually trained and supervised and that activities of medical staff are coordinated with other operating units of the organization
- Supervise all providers, including performing new hire orientations, conducting peer review process, corrective action counseling, terminations, and approving all requests for leaves of absence, training, special requests, and annual evaluations.
- Fosters an environment that promotes Quality Assurance & Improvement Programs.

A current, valid and unrestricted New York State medical license
• Status as a provider in good standing in the Medicare and Medicaid programs
• Board certification in Anatomic and/or Clinical Pathology
• Minimum 5 years of clinical experience in Pathology
• Minimum 5 years in a leadership role in a Pathology Department or Division
• Experience working with an underserved patient population preferred
