Job Description
Job Title:Process Engineer

Summary:As a Process Engineer, you will work within one of our Value Streams to maintain and improve efficiencies, reduce cost, improve safety and EHS compliance, improve sustainability, and maximize profits. This role may support the Performance Additives or the Formulated Specialties/Construction Sealants businesses.

Responsibilities Include:
  • Drive process cycle time reduction and process improvements beyond weekly time horizon

  • Create additional capacity on existing assets

  • Tracks metrics to discover areas of improvement and monitor progress

  • Assess and maintain compliance with safety and quality standards.

  • Update, approve, and maintain technical process information including part V operating manual sections, manufacturing instructions, and outputs from change management

  • Implement small-medium scope MOCs

  • Develop scope for small - medium scope projects, and provide justification for maintenance capex projects

  • Coordinate with Technology to execute NPI's and product translations

  • Lead production trials as assigned

  • Support PHA and implement corrective actions

  • Work with Process Development Engineer to develop long term plan for the products and business.

Qualifications:

The following are required for the role

  • BS degree in Chemical Engineering or related discipline

  • 2+ years of related industry experience

  • Able to communicate effectively across levels of the organization, solid presentation skills

  • Ability to troubleshoot process problems, identify and implement corrective actions

  • Ability to create simple, effective, and comprehensive work instructions to document strict process procedures and methods

  • Ability to act in a safe and environmentally responsible manner

  • Strong sense of urgency, and accountability, and delivers on commitments

  • Strong computer skills, including MS Office

The following are preferred for this role

  • Manufacturing experience

  • Technical knowledge in industrial equipment and chemical products

  • Demonstrated knowledge of continuous and batch chemical processes

  • Six-Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, 5S experience

  • Cause Map trained

  • Project and process safety management

  • Automation and digitization skillset

  • Knowledge of instrument, electric domain. (DCS, PHA, LOPA)

  • Knowledge of SAP, Minitab, Team Guru

PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORK ENVIRONMENT

The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, bend, stoop, climb, twist, turn, grasp, and move about the facility. Walking, walking on irregular surfaces, and balancing will be required. Hearing, sight to include depth perception and color vision, and the ability to speak clearly will be required. Occasional lifting and moving up to 50 lbs. and the ability to comply with Personal Protective Equipment requirements (ability to pass a fit-test and wear a respirator is required for certain positions/locations).

The environment for this position is a Manufacturing setting, with exposure to outside weather conditions and loud noise. Candidates should be able to adapt to a traditional business environment. What We Offer:Base Pay Range: $73,200.00 - $107,360.00

The actual salary offered is determined by factors including but not limited to education, experience, skill sets, and geography. Additionally, this role is eligible for incentive or sales variable compensation payments. The amount of these incentives is based on the terms of the Company's incentive plans, the Company's financial performance, and/or individual employee job performance.
