Saab, Inc. is hiring a Buyer-Commodity Professional to support work in expanding and managing internal processes of the Supply Chain department. This role will make an impact as a critical contributor in improving operational efficiencies and the continual management of Saab, Inc.'s supplier base, but not limited to, the following:

  • Supply Chain Database Management

  • Support updates for Supply Chain Document repository included changes to Standard Operating Procedures, (SOPs), modifying and creating new forms, documenting training, and modifying Supply Chain Manual

  • Organize Supply Chain electronic files

  • Spearhead creating a new system to organize strategic suppliers

  • Presentation and Team Building - Create learning and development PowerPoint presentations for training classes

  • Manage supplier onboarding process and paperwork

  • Purchase Order Close Out - Cross functionally collaborate with Business Areas, Manufacturing, Material Handling and Finance to close out open purchase orders

  • Obtain and evaluate quotes

  • Coordinate resolution of invoice discrepancies

  • Effectively communicate both verbally and in writing with internal and/or external customers as applicable.

  • Effectively use appropriate tools and computer skills

  • Effectively use problem solving skills and analytical thinking

  • Identifyand qualify potential suppliers

  • Basic understanding of the FAR and DFAR, processes and procedures with capability to drive improvements

    Compensation Range: $58,458-$60,100

    The compensation range provided is a general guideline. When extending an offer, Saab, Inc. considers factors including (but not limited to) the role and associated responsibilities, location, and market and business considerations, as well as the candidate's work experience, key skills, and education/training.

    Skills and Experience:

    Required Education and Experience:

    • Bachelor's degree in a business-related discipline

    Required Skills:

    • An understanding of Supply Chain and Material Requirement Planning System

    • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint).

    • Possess understanding of Government contracting (to include FAR/DFAR) and key business processes

    • Ability to work comfortably in a team environment, multi-task, and support concurrent requirements for different internal and external customers.

    • Attention to detail, strong organizational, communication and negotiation skills necessary in a team environment

    • Self-motivated

    • Ability to understand Procurement / Supply Chain and Material Requirement Planning

    • Preparation and administration of routine correspondence and purchasing related documentation

    • Confers with suppliers to obtain product or service information, such as price, availability, and delivery schedule (expedites and / or facilitates the delivery of goods to users).

    • Communicates both verbally and in writing with internal customers as applicable

    • Ability to prepare, organize and maintain purchasing records and files documenting Purchasing performance and compliance

    • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite

    • Good written and verbal communication skills

    Desired Experience:

    • Knowledge/experience with Department of Defense(DoD) procurements and contracts

    • Prior work experience in Procurement or Supply Chain-related field
