Datadog's Writing team is the public voice of Datadog. Our team of technical content writers and editors runs. We value accuracy, depth, and accessibility. The Senior Technical Content Editor will support our growing team to continue to create in-depth, compelling, and engaging content for our customers, a highly technical audience of engineers and developers.

What You'll Do:

  • Work closely with technical content writers to develop and provide deep editorial feedback on articles for the Datadog blog, such as:
    • Deep dives on modern technologies
    • In-depth monitoring guides and tutorials
    • Announcements about the Datadog product
  • Provide subject matter expertise in one or more areas related to Datadog and modern application development, observability, and security
  • Collaborate with editors, writers, product managers, engineers, and graphic designers to maximize the clarity, technical correctness, and visual appeal of our articles
  • Mentor writers and other editors to help them develop their skills and confidence in conceiving and developing new content
  • Help identify and create new formats and content types to better communicate original research, monitoring best practices, and technical tips to our readers
  • Continually measure reader engagement, and iterate to improve content focus, craft, and distribution
  • Actively assesses team processes and workflows to identify improvements

Who You Are:

  • You have a minimum of 5 years experience as an editor and/or writer in the technology industry, with samples of your work to share
  • You are able to craft superior, technically precise prose and elevate the work of your colleagues to a similar level. This includes improving the quality of the writing itself, as well as identifying technical passages that need clarification, revision, or deeper exploration
  • You are up to date on the latest trends in the cloud monitoring space and are constantly coming up with and pitching new story ideas
  • You are familiar with modern web application development methods, container platforms, cloud services, and other infrastructure technologies

Datadog offers a competitive salary and equity package, and may include variable compensation. Actual compensation is based on factors such as the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience. $132,000-$169,000 USD
