Job DescriptionAs a Global Mobility Specialist, Region Americas in the HR function, your focus will be to assist with end-to-end Global Mobility for the region. You facilitate the immigration and relocation processes for international and domestic colleagues and ensure a smooth and efficient transition for colleagues. You will play a pivotal role in supporting our global workforce and ensuring a seamless experience for H&M employees and candidates relocating internationally.
This hybrid role reports to our Global Mobility Manager, Region Americas, based in the New York City Support Office.
A Day in the Life
Working at H&M means no two days are ever the same, but a typical day will include the following responsibilities*
- Case management for domestic and international permanent relocations and short-term/long-term international assignments.
- Maintain files including Global Mobility Tracker and other internal systems
- Partner with internal teams including Talent Acquisition, HR, Payroll, Accounting, and Benefits related to employee relocation, mobility, and onboarding.
- Act as a liaison between employees, external vendors, and internal stakeholders.
- Advise and assist HR, Managers, and colleagues regarding mobility matters, processes, and policies
- Offer international mobility related expertise to local HR Business Line and Specialists
- Track assignment life cycle for all transfers and expatriate employees
- Work with third party suppliers, including immigration, tax, real estate, and shipping vendors and manage and maintain reports
- Support the end -to -end immigration process for nonimmigrant and immigrant cases including L-1 visas, H-1Bs, EADs (employment authorization documents), and green card sponsorship. Process extensions, amendments, and terminations
- Coordinate approval process for payment requests for lump sum payments and relocation allowances; process and track all related mobility invoices
- Assist with various global mobility projects to improve ways of working and enhance the employee experience
- Escalate policy exceptions, compliance risks, vendor performance issues and employee concerns to the Global Mobility Manager
- Stay updated on Global Mobility trends and regulations to ensure adherence to international laws and best practices
- Collaborate and partner with H&M's Global Team in Sweden to ensure alignment for relocations
- Secure assignment benefits are properly captured through close collaboration with local payroll and benefits teams
- Ensure applicable systems are kept up to date with assignment information (HRIS (Human Resource Information Systems), payroll, benefits)
- Up to 5% domestic travel may be required
Qualifications- Minimum 2 years of experience in a mobility role in an international corporate environment
- Experience in corporate immigration, tax compliance and international relocation desired
- Ability to work well with a diverse group of people, including Human Resources, Legal, Global Mobility, Talent Acquisition, HR Business Partners, Payroll, employees, and their families
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills written and verbal
- Enthusiastic, curious, and driven to learn
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage priorities
- Resourcefulness with the ability to anticipate needs, prioritize responsibilities and take initiative
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Word/Excel/Outlook/PowerPoint
- Ability to be neutral and confidential and handle sensitive information
- Strong customer service orientation including a friendly, helpful, and professional demeanor

Compensation: salary range is $66,793 - $75,142 annually**
